New Service Added to Rural Transport Services

Do you require transport from West Cork to CUH for radiotherapy?

New Service added!

A new service has been added for passengers seeking radiotherapy in Cork. the vehicle will run from Castletownbere to Cork daily, travelling through Bantry and Dunmanway.

What is Cancer Connect??

Cancer Connect provides transport (in a people carrrier), along the N71 from Goleen, through Skibbereen to Cork. This service is provided in conjunction with CUH; passengers that travel on Cancer Connect are scheduled for treatment between 12 pm and 1pm daily.  Those that travel arrive at the radiotherapy ward before 12pm and leave the hospital at 1pm to travel directly back to West Cork. There is no waiting.

The service is Free, Flexible and Confidential  and travels each day - Monday to Friday. Passengers may require a family member to travel with them, this is facilitated and encouraged.  The service is driven by a team of volunteers who are dedicated and committed to ensuring that each passenger has a safe, trouble free and comfortable journey to and from treatment.

If you are receiving radiotherapy in the Mercy Hospital, or elsewhere, please let us know and we can include your need in the timetable. If you wish to avail of this service, or just want to chat about your options, please ring Helen on 027 52727 or 087 1224404.
